Shampoo with sulfates – an explanation!

There are various types of detergents containing sulfates, some of which are found in nature while others are synthetically produced, and there are many opinions on ingredients containing sulfate. In addition to acting as an effective detergent and cleansing the skin, some soaps containing too much sulfate can dry out and irritate the skin. However, sulfates occur naturally and are used as soap compounds in the shampoos.

Herbal Mint Shampoo and Blossom Shampoo are therefore both free of the most well-known sulfate detergents, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). Instead, they contain Sodium Coco Sulfate, which contains sulfates extracted from palm or coconut oil. We have chosen to use a sulfate detergent in the shampoos to ensure the optimum quality and effect of Rudolph Hair products. At the same time, we have prioritised a high content of natural moisturising and nourishing ingredients to ensure that the skin is not irritated by the detergent.

Sodium Coco Sulfate is biodegradable and approved by the Nordic Ecolabel, which has also certified Rudolph Hair products. The Swan is your guarantee of high quality and products which show greater consideration for the environment and your health than the law requires. The Swan is also your assurance that the product does not contain ingredients from the EU list of substances suspected of being endocrine disruptors or classified as allergenic.
