How important are shampoo and conditioner for the condition of the hair?
They are essential if you want to keep your hair in top shape but a shampoo or conditioner cannot change the actual condition of the hair. Generally speaking, a shampoo cleanses the hair of dirt and product, while the conditioner softens the hair so it feels silky and is easier to comb out after washing. If you want to change the condition of your hair, it’s much more about your lifestyle. As in what you eat, whether you have a lot of stress, are you getting exercise, and so forth.
What is the ideal way to treat your hair – washing, styling, the cut?
It’s a tough question to answer because it is all very individual. But a good cut when the hair needs it is vital to keeping it healthy and beautiful. The dead and tired ends have got to go!
You style the hair of some of the world’s most beautiful women – please tell us their hair is just like that of us mortals?
Haha! Of course they have hair like the rest of us, and often their hair is far more damaged as a result of their jobs. BUT there are also top models out there who make a living based off their especially gorgeous hair, and they have contracts with hair brands such as L’Oréal. And that’s something you can’t compete with.
Now that you’ve just become a mother – how should we react when/if our hair begins to fall out? Is there anything that can be done?
That kind of hair loss is hormonal, so no, unfortunately there’s not much that can be done if it happens. Sleep and a healthy diet can’t hurt. Brush your hair many times over the course of the day, because it helps to distribute the hair’s own oils from the scalp down through the hair. The hair’s own oils are a fabulous “hair care product” so why not put them to use?
A Mason Pearson brush is made for just that. And very pretty too.
What’s your opinion on Rudolph Hair – both the shampoo and conditioner?
They are three incredibly super hair products. I personally don’t use conditioner, but the Herbal Mint Shampoo is definitely one of my favourites.
HURRAH, WE'RE SO PROUD proud ...
