Worth knowing

About Rudolph Hair

What do the Swan and Cosmos labelling on Blossom Shampoo and Herbal Mint Shampoo mean?

The Swan is the Nordic Ecolabel. It is your guarantee of high quality and products which show greater consideration for the environment and your health than the law requires. The Swan is also your assurance that the product does not contain ingredients from the EU list of substances suspected of being endocrine disruptors or classified as allergenic.

Cosmos is an organic certification with requirements based on the percentage of natural and organic ingredients in a product. The product must contain at least 95% natural, plant-based ingredients and at least 10% organic ingredients. What’s more, Cosmos has special environmental requirements when it comes to packaging and production.

The Swan and Cosmos certifications mean that an independent third party has verified that the shampoos from Rudolph Hair, and the ingredients they contain, meet their particular standards.

Why isn’t Forever Soft Conditioner Cosmos-certified?

Forever Soft Conditioner is the sole product in the Rudolph Hair range that only bears the Swan label. This is because there is no natural softening conditioner ingredient that lives up to the quality and effect we believe a conditioner should have. It is the method of production and synthetic element of the active ingredient in a conditioner that Cosmos does not accept.

Despite our choice to have Forever Soft Conditioner labelled with the Swan only, we have not compromised on the high content of organic and natural ingredients.

To what degree is Rudolph Hair Organic?

Blossom Shampoo and Herbal Mint Shampoo both contain 54% organic ingredients, while 26% of the ingredients in Forever Soft Conditioner are organic. You can see the percentage of organic ingredients at the bottom of the list of ingredients on the product. Cosmos’ minimum requirement for organic ingredients is 10%.

Does Rudolph Hair contain Perfume?

Rudolph Hair contains only natural perfume made from natural oils without synthetic ingredients. We have chosen a natural perfume that is completely free of the 26 allergenic fragrances that cause the strongest reactions in people and which the EU recommends avoiding. Blossom Shampoo and Forever Soft Conditioner contain notes of raspberry and violet, while Herbal Mint Shampoo has a mild scent of menthol.

What is the difference between Blossom Shampoo and Herbal Mint Shampoo?

It is the effective natural extracts and their properties that set the shampoos apart from each other. Among other things, Herbal Mint Shampoo contains rosemary, sage and menthol, which prevent a dry, irritated scalp, and it has a mild scent of mint. Blossom Shampoo restores and nourishes dry, damaged hair with the help of calendula, wild rose hip and raspberry, with a subtle fragrance of flowers and berries.

What is sulfate? Why is there sulfate in Rudolph Hair?

Sulfate occurs naturally and is one of the detergents in the shampoos. There are various types of detergents containing sulfate, and there are many opinions on ingredients containing sulfate. In addition to acting as an effective detergent and cleansing the skin, some soaps containing too much sulfate can dry out and irritate the skin. The most common sulfate detergents such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) have not been used in Herbal Mint Shampoo and Blossom Shampoo, which instead contain the detergent Sodium Coco Sulfate, which contains sulfate extracted from palm oil or coconut oil. We have chosen to use a sulfate detergent in the shampoos to ensure the optimum quality and effect of Rudolph Hair. At the same time, we have prioritised a high content of natural moisturising and nourishing ingredients to ensure that the skin is not irritated by the detergent.

What doesn’t Rudolph Hair contain?

Not only does Rudolph Hair meet the strict requirements of the Swan Nordic Ecolabel, but it is also completely free of the 26 fragrance allergens on the EU’s warning list. Rudolph Hair is 100% free of potential endocrine disrupters (EU’s lists of potential endocrine disrupters URL: http://ec.europa.eu/environment/ chemicals/endocrine/), irradiated ingredients, synthetic colours and perfumes, essential oils and silicone.
